Self-exclusion
A formal request by a person to be barred from gambling with a business, or with many businesses at once, for a set period.
In practice
Once someone self-excludes, the operator must close the account, return the balance and stop sending marketing. Letting a self-excluded customer open a new account and gamble is a common reason for regulatory penalties.
